Course Description
What is the purpose of the program? This program breaks tradition when it comes to MBA programs and is designed for senior public leaders who want to have a variety of transformational impacts in an age of poly-crisis and complexity. It is designed to educate and equip public sector leaders with leadership, innovation and management capabilities vital to practicing responsible and ethical stewardship, making decisions and policy with integrity and based on trustworthy evidence, and ensuring effective and efficient policy implementation and service delivery. All of these are critical for our future, and to sustainable and measurable value creation for all citizens, the government, and businesses in Australia and the Asia Pacific. It is also for those seeking to acquire the skills and capabilities required to foster a functional public service ecosystem in which public and private sector leaders can work effectively together with a shared purpose to better position Australia within a global context, as well as to adapt to future environmental, social, geopolitical and technological challenges. What is the content and structure of the program? The program consists of 12 three-unit courses and one 12-unit organisational research capstone project developed within an integrated curriculum framework. Who is this program for? This transdisciplinary MBA program is geared primarily toward Australian public sector leaders in both the state and federal governments, as well as leaders in adjacent industries. The program is suited to leaders transitioning to senior leadership roles who want to deepen their knowledge of core government functions in the public sector. Importantly, the ANU, as the National University, is located at epicentre of the Australian Public Sector ecosystem, and as such provides a perfect environment for learning, networking and collaboration opportunities for our students as well as our world-class researchers.Students in this program must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, Sir Roland Wilson Foundation Pat Turner Scholars, eligible ANU staff, or funded by their employers or other sponsor organisations.
