Overview

Introduction

General English courses develop students' communication skills by developing listening, speaking, reading and writing. When students arrive at Rose Hill College, they take a placement skills assessment test and interview to determine their English level and are then placed in a class that best suits their English level and study plan. The test at the end of the ten-week course will be comprehensive, requiring students to combine elements of the language they have learned to complete realistic tasks that a student of a particular level might complete. This type of test is designed to see how much language students are able to systematize in order to transfer and extend performance.
